Hunting / InformationBlock A – La Vérendrye

The Verendrye Block A is private property managed by the CGRMP for wildlife management. This territory is managed under a structured territory status called article 36-37.

This territory covers an area of nearly 60km2. It is located in zone 1 between the Dunière Wildlife Reserve and the Casault ZEC.

Access right

To hunt in Bloc A La Verendrye, it is necessary to obtain access rights for a certain fee depending on the product. To obtain access rights, contact the reception office in Causapscal, 462 St-Jacques North, 1-888-730-6174. Access rights for non-hunting companions are free but mandatory.

Moose Hunting

Access rights allow hunting throughout the entire Bloc A La Verendrye territory. By obtaining your access right for moose hunting, you can also hunt small game.

You must mandatory register your moose at the Lacroix Reception located at 40 km on Chemin Lacroix.

No hunter can appropriate a plot of land or obstruct access to the territory for another hunter. Each user must ensure not to obstruct access roads and/or limit access to the territory for another group.

Zone 1 hunting dates 

Deer hunting

You can hunt deer in the 36-37 area. Access rights are mandatory.

South zone 1 hunting dates 

Hunting for small game only

: Small game hunting is prohibited during moose hunting and deer hunting except for holders of access rights for these two species. Outside of these moose and deer hunting periods, small game hunting is open to everyone. You must obtain access rights either by going to the Causapscal reception center, via the virtual reception center (PAV), or by phone. This registration is free but mandatory.

You must report your daily catches to the Causapscal reception center at 1-888-730-6174  or by email at accueil.causapscal@cgrmp.com providing your name, the number of grouse harvested, and the date of the hunting day.

Circulation

No fees apply for circulation on Block A La Verendrye. However, access rights are mandatory. Contact the Causapscal reception office at 462 St-Jacques Nord, 1-888-730-6174.

* Important Note: If you take the 18-Mile Road (Morning Creek), it is mandatory to have in your possession the right of way registration issued by ZEC Casault to cross its territory. To obtain this right of way, go to the ZEC Casault reception office at 757 west route 132 in Causapscal or directly to their virtual reception office.

Forest work, timber transport, or other commercial activities may be ongoing during your stay.
These activities do not entitle you to a refund or compensation.

Indigenous people occasionally engage in hunting and fishing activities on the territory.
